Watching kids really have fun can make you incredibly happy.
The bright eyes, the limitless enthusiasm, the unbridled joy and the pride when they notice that they are getting better and better. In soccer training, you can see all of this — as well as the deep disappointment and sadness when things don't go well. Children show their emotions much more honestly than most adults.
The first successes in sport have a completely different meaning:
The first game, the first duel won, the first goal. The soccer coach gets to know all this up close and personal. He or she can cheer on, inspire and see when a child discovers their passion for sport.
At the same time, the trainers themselves are undergoing a similar development. They too are discovering something new and taking the first steps — because Bambini coaches in particular were often only active players before and have no experience leading a training session yet. It is therefore important to prepare yourself by taking a team leader course.
The “team leader” is the precursor to the Trainer C license. This allows you to train teams of beginners in the children and youth sector in particular. It is therefore not primarily about performance and success, but rather about having fun playing soccer. It is also an opportunity to remain loyal to your own club — even if your own active career is slowly coming to an end and your own children may even want to join the Bambinis.
The team leader course is intended to prepare people who want to get involved for their task. And anyone who wants to continue in this area can get credit for the course if he or she obtains a Trainer C license within two years afterwards.
The team leader course consists of a basic qualification and a profile course. As a rule, the complete training takes three long weekends. The area of basic qualification involves training and movement theory, sports medicine, psychology, pedagogy and training methodology.
But future team leaders also learn the most important things about training: for example about organization, planning, association law, insurance and team management.
The profile courses give you the opportunity to specialize. It is about the ability to adapt training as well as possible to your own team, because the difference between Bambinis and juniors, for example, is huge. The team leadersThey should therefore be able to recognize where their group is and how they can best support them.
Very young people in particular are at risk of being overwhelmed by too much pressure to perform and losing the fun of soccer. Ambitious older playersInternally, on the other hand, should be given the opportunity to develop further. It is therefore a matter of finding the right balance between entertainment and promotion.
There are now also courses on how to lead training for a girls' team. Especially from adolescence and adolescence, it makes a lot of sense to adapt training even more to the needs of girls and to make a difference between training for girls and boys. Up to now, it has mostly been the case in Germany that
The content of team leader courses is primarily aimed at male players, but this is slowly changing and there are more and more opportunities to specialize in girls and women.

Most team leaders don't start a major coaching career, but stick to training for children or young people. Nevertheless, it is important to take the matter seriously — especially when working with children and young people. Because the trainer often has great importance and influence in their lives. It is therefore important to know exactly what you are doing and how to deal with children and young people.
Team leader training helps you to better understand your own team and individual members and to be able to work with them more effectively without building up too much pressure. And anyone who then realizes that the coaching job is just the right thing can move on right away.
