“Grätsche gegen Rechts” - the red card for racism!
Our soccer project against discrimination and racism in amateur soccer

Together, 60 young people are taking a sporting example against racism and discrimination in soccer. They slide to the right.

What is it about? footballersInsiders and trainersto raise awareness and draw attention to the fact that racism and discrimination are still part and problem of soccer. Together with Buntkicktgut and TSV Munich-East, we therefore presented our soccer project to an amateur club for the first time in a joint action day.

The goal?

Promote and strengthen civil courage and personal initiative against (everyday) racism. On and off the square, at the bakery, at work.

Our appeal to you: get involved, get involved with us and move against the right.

Fights against racism and discrimination in soccer.

Our concept

In the “slide against the right”, we convey our values through two concepts:

Action days and workshops.

During the action days, we come directly to our partner clubs and work with the young people in direct contact as part of a small soccer tournament. In doing so, we combine the fun of playing with the teaching of the core values of our common cooperation. Our workshops take place on a smaller scale and off the pitch. Like a game, our workshops are 90 minutes long.

We interactively address the issue of racism in amateur soccer with young people. We do not give long lectures, but create a framework for participants in which they themselves reflect and learn, and develop the necessary self-confidence and self-image to actively combat racism and discrimination.

We are primarily concerned with one thing: Empowering young people to act!
On and off the pitch.

3.11.2022 — The starting signal

We launched the “Grätsche gegen Rechts” initiative back in 2019.

On 03.11.2022, we deepened and promoted our commitment with the action day at TSV Munich-East. In collaboration with TSV and Buntkicktgut, we played soccer with 60 young people for a whole day and talked about racism and discrimination in amateur sports.

For over four hours, the ball rolled in the most beautiful sunshine, people laughed, ate and reinforced our shared social responsibility. The objective was simple: to combine the fun of playing with our shared social responsibility.

We are firmly convinced that all athletes — regardless of their performance level — can change our society for the better through sport.

This idea is also lived by our partners, TSV and Buntkicktgut, as well as the 60 young people on and off the soccer field.

What remains?

Young people such as soccer players from TSV Munich-Ost and Buntkicktgut will shape our society and define our values in the future. Through sport, but also in everyday life in general, they have the opportunity and responsibility to construct social cooperation that does not ostracize and discriminate, but above all respect, diversity and tolerance. We have the opportunity to reach out to these young people through sport.

That is our responsibility at B42. And that is the responsibility of all of us in sport — as playersinside, trainerinside, officials and board members.

That is your responsibility. Now move to the right with us. Against exclusion, racism and discrimination.

Be fearless. Be focused. B42.
